Maison du Noyer is our little slice of paradise in the heart of the Savoyard region of the French Alps. Situated at 1,000m in the picturesque market village of St Jean D’Aulps, it’s the perfect retreat whether you’re a snow sports (or apres ski!) enthusiast, walker or mountain biker or if you just love the hot summer sun, fresh air, cool lakes, fabulous food and relaxation. We’ve owned this property since October 2018, prior to which it was lovingly converted to a modern apartment from a traditional French farmhouse so it retains a blend of the old with modern features and convenience.

5 minutes’ walk from the centre of St Jean D’Aulps village – bar, restaurants, boulangerie, bank, supermarket and tourist office
5 minutes’ drive from St Jean’s own ski station – La Grande Terche – and 10 minutes from the larger resort of Morzine where you can also access Avoriaz and Les Gets ski fields
5 minutes’ drive from stunning Lac Montriond
10 minutes from Morzine – outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, restaurants, bars, shops, puzzle room etc, markets, bike hire, pony trekking, zip line, ice skating and lots more
Geneva is just over an hour away by car, Lac Leman 30 mins, Chatel 35 mins, Evian 40 mins, Yvoire 45 mins, Chamonix & Mont Blanc 1hr, Annecy 1hr 20, Lausanne (via ferry from Yvoire) 2hrs 15, and only 3.5hrs drive to Milan
We recommend you hire a car for the duration of your stay as that’s the best way to get around. That said, there are plenty of local bus services that will get you around the area without any problems and the nearest bus stop is a 5-minute walk from Maison du Noyer.

We enjoyed a two week stay at Saint Jean D’Aulpe in March. We hired a car so the apartment was a good base for skiing at Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz. The small local resort outside Saint Jean D’Aulpe has a very pretty wooded circuit for intermediates as well as lower slopes for beginners. We ate out some nights, mainly in Morzine, and cooked in the apartment on occasion. The covered parking at the apartment was very convenient. No need to clear the car of snow in the morning!
I absolutely loved my stay at Maison du Noyer. The apartment itself is very spacious and warm, as well as scrupulously clean. The views are beautiful in all weathers.
The village itself is lovely, with places to eat and drink and access to the local supermarket is great. The proximity to ski-ing at Morzine and Les Gets is easy either by car or bus.
I can’t recommend the place enough and I very much look forward to my next stay.
Just back from an awesome 2 weeks at Maison du Noyer. The location is a great place from which to explore the French Alps, so many things to do!
The apartment itself is well set up and very spacious, with lots of room for families or groups of friends.
Sitting with a cold drink on the balcony in the evening, enjoying the summer sun is pretty special. Can’t wait to try it with a hot drink watching the snow fall.

I would highly recommend this beautiful apartment. We stayed for Feb half term 2019, & as a family of 5 (3 busy boys) there was plenty of space to relax & unwind after a hard day on the slopes. The whole accommodation is warm, welcoming and has plenty of storage for messy boots, bags and paraphernalia you end up bringing. The hosts are really helpful, responding promptly to any questions. We enjoyed the location, being in a pretty party of the village, with a short walk to the shops for patisserie in the morning. We will definitely return here!
I loved my stay in this fantastic apartment. It was spacious and clean and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The views were stunning from the lovely balcony too.
The transfer from Geneva airport was very straightforward and the location of the apartment is ideal, whether it’s for access to the ski resorts or just to head out for a meal or a drink in one of the many local bars and restaurants.
I can’t wait to return!
Fantastic apartment, although it feels more like a chalet as it’s so spacious! Good sized bedrooms and living area and having 3 bathrooms is a real bonus. Wonderful views all around and really easy to access the nearby ski areas either by car or local bus, and the village is merely a short walk away. Definitely not your typical ‘shoe box’ alpine apartment!
